The Home Show

These are photos of our cabinets at the Home Show. They are absolutely beautiful! I can't wait for you all to see them in person. I don't know yet what the first meal will be although Tim tells me it is Green Eggs and Ham with the grandbabies!

Intricate Details

These are shots of the various corbells and legs that make the cabinets look like fine pieces of furniture. Tim, and Nathan are placing a corbell on the island for measurements needed for the countertop. This island will be a white distressed stain and the cabinets are cherry with a fruitwood stain and a chocolate glaze.

Our Friends at Freedom Valley

Nathan and his son Kevin have been very busy getting ready for the show. I understand that Kevin is quite the helper and has done a phenomenal job of assisting his dad in the preparation necessary to put this all together. He is quite a nice person and was very eager to show Tim and I all that they had done. Here they are at their shop.

A Road Trip to Freedom Valley

Here are a few images of our cabinets. They are almost completed and will soon be ready to be taken to the Home Show.
The first photo is of the hood over the stove top. It is laying on it's back side so it may be hard to visualize exactly what it looks like. The next photo is the panty slideout that will go beside the fridge and also the oven unit. Then there are photos with various cabinets shots including my drawers that will be under the stove top and also the glass cabinets.

The Condition We Are In!!

These are just a few photos showing the condition of our house this week. You still cannot tell that we have been working because nothing has really changed too much visually. It may even look a little bit worse. But, that should all change soon. If you look closely you can tell that our windows have been changed. (Go Anderson windows!) In the photo showing the back of the house, we now have 2 windows where there once was 3 windows. This will be my laundry room when all is said and done.

Dry Wall Work

This week has been busy with completion of the electrical work and the start of dry wall repairs. Mark and Josh are working very hard to repair the ceilings and the walls and will be hanging our new windows. As you can see from the photo below, laundry may be a challenge! It 's all about being able to flex and bend and twist around obstacles in order to get the job done. (And being willing to maybe wear our clothes a second time....shake them out well and put them back on! tee-hee!!) So far, we have been up for the tasks. This is our last "dirty job" before proceeding with all of the other stuff that has to be done before the cabinets can be installed. Our goal is to be finished by Easter! See all of you in the spring!

The Beat Goes On!!
